Tea Time with Annie Kate Rotating Header Image

The Tea Cup

Several years ago when a dear friend of mine turned 40, I wanted to give her something special.  An expensive gift and shipping to another province were not an option, and no idea seemed right…until one day someone gave me a picture of many lovely teacups.  Tea cups symbolize so much about my friend.

Timidly, I took out my 20 year old sketch pad and my pencil crayons.  To my own amazement, this picture appeared!  Before giving my friend the only finished art work of many years, I photocopied it.  Occasionally I would find it and look at it.

Recently, it seems to be the perfect symbol of this blog.  It’s about friendship and conversation, beauty and grace, time spent together and communicating over long distances and at long intervals.

This teacup on the blog will remind me of her often, and it will remind me to pray for her and her family, that they may come to love the Lord.

May all our families and friends come to know and love our wonderful God.  May we all be faithful ambassadors for Him.  And may He overcome our foolishness and sins so that we don’t drive people away from Him.  Amen.

You did an awesome job on that cup. It looks almost real, like you can feel the china. Great job!

Thank you so much for your compliments, ladies! (Don't forget, the small version does look better than the original.) But I was THRILLED when I saw it up on the blog.

    Thanks for your encouragement!
