Effective, Free, Safe, Natural, Simple Headache Remedy

Yes, you’ve read it correctly!  There is such a miraculous remedy.  I’ve been using it for many, many years and it rarely fails. In fact I don’t have many headaches anymore since I now also use the remedy as prevention.

What is this magic elixir?  Water, simply water.  The cure for most of my headaches is to drink two full cups of water.  Apparently huge numbers of the population are chronically dehydrated and for many people a major symptom of dehydration is a headache.

Water solves the problem of dehydration, and so removes the headache.  Other drinks, such as juice, coffee, tea, or pop, do not work so well.  Juice and pop can cause blood sugar spikes; coffee and tea apparently can cause dehydration and headaches.  So just try plain water.

If the headache isn’t substantially improved within 20 minutes after the first two cups of water, have another cup or two of water, with a bit of food to prevent water intoxication.  If you don’t feel better soon, dehydration is probably not the cause of this headache.

If you sip small amounts of water throughout the day, you may prevent a lot of headaches as well as other symptoms of dehydration.  Do not drink huge amounts of water by itself at one time; this can be dangerous.

Note: of course these suggestions are not medical advice; always consult your doctor if you have any concerns.

I have never heard that! Very interesting too! I'll have to keep that in mind for the next headache.

This is a great post. I learned so much from your post and links about water intoxification. I am working hard at drinking my 2-3 litres a day of water. Prevention is the best tool. [0= I will make sure I take my two cups of water when I get headaches now. Thanks for the info.

You are correct, water will often take care of a headache. And if that doesn't do the trick, a few drops of lavender essential oil either rubbed on the back of the neck and temples, or put onto a tissue and inhaled, will usually take care of the problem.

    Blessings,

    Catherine 🙂

Thanks so much for leaving the tip about lavender oil. I'd never heard about it, but it is always good to have a back up if drinking water doesn't help.

Hi sweet friend. I updated my post for a neat link to a website with all kinds of bubble solution recipes. So Dawn or any dish soap seems to work. [0= But I have heard that Joy ( older the better) works the best but Dawn seems to be the next best. Hope that helps.

    Blessings in Him<><

This is very true! I often forget to drink during the day because I'm so busy, and I always get a headache at night.
