A Good Snack Day

I like snacks.  We all like snacks.

But it’s always an effort to put together a snack, so we often don’t bother.  Occasionally I’ll make popcorn, or put out a plate of turnip slices.  On Mondays we often have left-overs of Sunday treats.  For special occasions we’ll have chips.  Occasionally we’ll do the dried fruit and nut thing.

Today, though was special.  Miss 12 made gluten-free pumpkin spice muffins.  Luscious, light, and deliciously spicy.  Yum!  Of course, the children wanted butter with them, and they were so very, very good that way!

To top off a good snack day, Master 14 made popcorn, and I put together a plate of carrot sticks, celery sticks, and apple slices.  Yes, you guessed it.  We had company.  Why don’t we do these things for ourselves?  I don’t know, or perhaps I do and don’t want to confess to laziness or not managing to keep up with things.

In any case, we had a good snack day today, and maybe we’ll do it all again tomorrow.

I love good snack days, though I made the worst popcorn ever yesterday. Don't know what went wrong!

    God bless!

My favorite snack is a handful of unroasted almonds. We are pretty casual with our snacks too. Popcorn is a favorite, too. I can't wait to get a "normal" stove to make it on. Currently the stove is a glass top inductive and needs special magnetized pans to work! (It's a hi filuting stove.)
