If you have children who could use a bit of learning reinforcement in the summer or a different way of learning during the school year, you might want to try out Time4Learning. It looks like a fun summer learning project for my kids, and your children may also enjoy it.
The neat thing that I want to share with you is that bloggers can ask for a complimentary month of Time4Learning (up to four children) in exchange for an honest review. (As usual, I do not profit from telling you about this program. We’re receiving a free month of Time4Learning in order to review it.)
These are our family’s goals for our month with Time4Learning:
- Miss 12 needs to check for gaps in her learning.
- Miss 10 needs to focus on writing, spelling, and math.
- Miss 7 needs to catch up to her grade level. She’s distractible but loves computer learning, and this program should work for her.

Sounds like a good program. However, for us, it won’t work. Every time I sign up for a free trial, we never end up using it. It’s just not priority with so much on my plate right now. I know we are missing out on some great opportunities, but I just can’t seem to motivate myself to add something else to my “to do” list.
My eldest loves Time4Learning, and we’re starting our pre-schooler on it this fall! It’s a great program and as a working mom I can check on their status during the day if I have to be in the office or on the road.
Yes, the parent reporting feature seems very thorough, although I haven’t yet figured it all out.

I’ve been considering using Time4Learning several times over the last few years, but somehow always decided against it. My children are already spending quite a lot of time at their computers, and I don’t yhink I should encourage them to spend even more time at their computers.
Having said that, a free trial does sound very tempting, but… we’re only two days from our Summer Vacation now, and won’t be getting back into our regular “schedule” until after Rosh HaShanah.
Do you think they’d give me that free trial in September?

I was concerned about the children spending too much time at the computer, but this summer they’re not glued to it. 🙂 Mind you, this program is appealing enough that they do more than I ask them to, and then they watch each other. Of course, that translates to a lot of computer time.
They would probably give you the free trial in September. There seems to be no deadline on this offer.

We have been using this program for our 2 kiddies for about 2 1/2 years now and they Love it! Thou,I can understand the too much “computer time” issue .I have found that not to be a problem ,at least not in our house. It takes them maybe an hour or two at most to do their lessons and we only school 3 days a week as we our year round home-schoolers 😉 So IMO that is not that much time to be on the computer.
The only thing peeving me about T4L at the moment is where is my Free month!!! LOL 😉
I suppose if you’ve been using it already, you don’t get a free month. That doesn’t seem fair, does it? Perhaps if you review it, you can talk them into giving you a free month, too. You’re so enthusiastic, they’ll love your review. They had to gamble on me, since I had no idea what the program was like. 🙂
So far, I like very much it for summer fun, but I don’t think it would meet our family’s goals for year-round school work.
