This month Molly focusses on the laundry, but of course she talks about other things as well: traditional turkey side dishes, a delicious meal of the month (scrumptious dessert!), pet first-aid kits, cold and flu tips, beating holiday stress, and much more. I like the Tightwad Training Camp hands-on lesson showing just how much you can save in a year by regularly saving small amounts. I’m also in awe of the beautiful magazine holders, complete with metal labels, which you can easily make out of things you’d throw away.
Angie’s top 10 ways to ‘Spin Pennies into Dollars’ are similar to ours. She includes two that are rarely mentioned in frugal literature. While I’ve never tried the one, the other one saves us hundreds if not thousands of dollars a year.
And, of course, Molly talks about laundry. She shares all sorts of helpful information, from forms and links to managing our attitudes, from making a laundry cart to stain removal tips, and from using the dryer to avoiding it.
I especially need help with the latter. You see, when I had a clothesline it would often snap during a gust of wind. My husband finally replaced it with aircraft cable, but then the tree it was attached to died…. Now that I’m looking for other frugal laundry drying solutions, I’m glad Molly has the links I need.

Sounds like a good resource. We do lots of laundry here and are always looking for ways to save money. I am especially interested in the drying solutions….so very cold to be hanging out wet wash these days :). My kids keep laughing about the fact that they can’t tell if it is still wet or just cold!

Laundry has been a challenge for me for years since my husband loves to be out on his tractor with the boys working the land; they gets so dirty. I am especially interested in the money savings tips not usually mentioned (the second one) that saves you hundreds or more dollars! This is a topic I want to address at Deeproots soon, so Mollie’s frugal tips might be just the thing.
