Spring versus Winter

It has been a hard struggle between spring and winter.  Now, with the forecast above freezing for the next five days, it seems that spring will win.  Finally.

The pictures show how our view has changed in the last week.  Right now our world is white, hopefully for the last time this spring!

Last year I posted photos of the thaw, when the whole valley flooded;  the flooding lasted only a day this year.

I am happy to hear that you are finally thawing out. We have had a lot of rain, some severe storms. I do not like that part of spring, but now our grass is emerald green. 🙂

We had rain today too. Miss 12 had kind of forgotten about rain and was so disappointed to have the warm weather spoiled by the wetness. She ended up spending a lot of time outside anyhow.

It’s so wonderful to hear birds, wander outside without a winter jacket, and open the windows a bit!

  2. Spring is coming! Our snow level went down a lot just in the last 24 hours, with heavy rain last night and sunshine and 8 degrees today. It is still possible to sink in the snow up to my thighs on our driveway (by no means the deepest place). The boys merrily walk on top of it, being a bit lighter than me. 🙂

Wow what a difference. I hope all your snow goes away soon. 🙂

Nelleke, you have had so much snow! I hope it’s not going to last much longer for you. One week after the last snow our yellow crocus is blooming! Spring is finally here.

Yes, JoAnn, it’s disappearing rapidly. So nice!

I hope you can smell the flowers soon! Here I saw the first bumblebees. We have a bumblebee nest in the garden, among the roses bushes in the ground.

    I like your photos!

    1. Annie Kate says:

Thank you, Jedidja! Our crocuses have just come up, so spring is truly here.
