Denise’s Ten-Week Fitness Challenge has been great motivator. In fact, my goals have been much easier to reach. It also helps that the children and I are walking the Rideau Trail with a friend at the rate of 4-5 km a week. Here’s how I did this week:
Walk at least 6000 steps five days a week: Yes! I did walk 6000 steps for five days of the week; in fact, I averaged 6700 steps a day! That included two wonderful nature outings I’ll write about in my weekly wrap up.
Do my physio exercises regularly and build up to the full reps by the end of the year: I’ve done them fairly regularly, provided I do them tonight yet. There’s some hope after all! And I visit the physiotherapist next Friday, which will provide additional motivation.
Avoid sugar except on Sundays: Yes, all week except for two necessary times. I drank cola to be able to drive home safely after doing groceries, and I ate a gluten-free blueberry breakfast bar as a snack yesterday when we were away from home. Even though we have gluten-free chocolate chip cookies in the house, I haven’t touched a single one!
As for my regular Fit Mommy goals, we did eat a lot of veggies, thanks in part to our freezer inventory chart.
And I did rest every day. Being active and busy makes me sleepy.
For the rest of the year, I’ll concentrate on my three Ten-Week Fitness goals, adding in only yoghurt, vegetables, and daily rests.
If you want to join in, just visit Denise at Got Chai? As you can tell from my posts, you don’t need to be very active or healthy to participate, although some of the Fit Mommies are.
This is wonderful…great job!

Sounds like a good week! Great job on walking all those steps!
Wowwwww!!!! You’re really “in it to win it”, aren’t you Annie Kate? 😉 Awesome job, my friend!
Good job, Annie Kate! That is lots of walking. 🙂
Way to go on all those steps! I ought to do something similar. I have a pedometer. Oh, the pressure!!! LOL!
Wonderful first week! Avoiding sugar is a tough one for me, my goal is one day per week and I find that a total challenge! I am super impressed by your self control!
