I haven’t finished any more books in the last two weeks, but have started a few new ones:

I’m rereading parts of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Fighting Fatigue by Nadine Saubers, a book that I read when I was really ill.  It has a lot of wonderful advice but is so full of grammar and style issues that it upsets me each time I open it.  If you’re fighting fatigue yourself, however, it would be worth looking at this book.  The only two things that I would add to the book’s fatigue fighting advice are:  remember to pray and read the Bible, since physical health without spiritual health is worth nothing, and get checked for celiac disease. (And if you want a job as editor or proofreader, here’s an opportunity.)

The Heart of Wisdom Teaching Approach by Robin Sampson is my inspiring homeschool read this fall.  Although I’ve only just begun it, I’m already impressed.  I treat myself to at least one such book a year, and it makes a huge difference to our lives.

The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill seemed too graphic for me right now, so it went right back to the library.  I think it is an important book, though, and will probably read it some other time.

Our library has many of Susan Wise Bauer’s books.  Although I borrowed The History of the Ancient World  last week, I haven’t even started it yet.

Still on my reading list:

  • Beyond Opinion, which I aim to finish this week,
  • Done and Dared in Old France, which is probably tucked away in some child’s bedroom since I can’t find it anywhere,
  • Maran Illustrated Dog Training, which I really need to get to, and
  • two read alouds,
    • Bobby’s Friends which we have almost finished, and
    • The Story Bible for Older Children which will take months.

So, in the 52 Books in 52 Weeks Challenge, I’ve finished 32 books by week 34.
