On Monday we had a normal school day and worked very hard. Then the fun began.
On Tuesday after another morning of hard work, we picked up Oma and Opa from the airport and started a 1000 piece puzzle.
Wednesday morning was for swimming and groceries. In the afternoon Opa and the Little Misses cleared the ice in the woods and went skating. In the evening, we made music with the flute, recorder, and organ. None of us are stellar musicians, but we?re not performing; rather we?re praising God and enjoying music.
Thursday morning, Miss 8 made a tasty breakfast. Then Oma and Opa took the crew to Ottawa?s Museum of Civilization and had a wonderful time. Costumed interpreters can be so much fun! Only Miss 18 and I stayed behind. She studied, and I slept. In the evening some of us attended an award ceremony where Miss 18 received a writing prize.
One child had to see a doctor on Friday and that was also a good opportunity to pick up some things I had forgotten on Wednesday?like vegetables! We also skated in the woods, sledded, picked up a friend, cleared up the first puzzle, started a new one, and had heavy discussions. In the evening we had five computers going for a while, including Mr. 15?s ?new? notebook that he just received from a friend.
Today, the plans are for a quick clean up of the house, judo, and eating part of the most enormous roast I?ve ever cooked, a twenty pound pork shoulder. Hopefully we?ll also make more music; there?s a violin in the house right now!

Wow, what a busy, fun week. You are blessed to have family you can praise and worship God with. 🙂

Sounds like a fantastic week! So nice to have family visit:) I love how you do the music. I used to play flute and I enjoyed that-my older daughter plays piano a bit-i need to support her more with it! Have a lovely weekend:)
I especially liked your pictures telling the story of your week. 😎
I’d say you had a fantastic and productive week. So true about the music, it’s all about praising God and enjoying the music. Two of my girls are doing piano and the other one is taking guitar, so practice can be interesting around here, lol.

Sounds like you had a great week! It’s nice that you could have a visit from family. Those times are always precious.
Lovely week! I love all your photos. How awesome to be able to sled and ice skate. And making a lovely noise ( joyful) unto the Lord is all that counts! There is nothing more sweet than my home filled with “homemade” music. It makes my heart sing.
