Fit Mommy Check-In

This was a great week.  I’m feeling much better and am so thankful for that!  Here’s how I did with my revised fitness goals for the week:

  1. To rest my legs while staying productive and happy.  Yes!  In fact, after avoiding the stairs as much as possible for a few days, my legs felt much better.  I even was able to go for some short walks again.  (And I got lots of sit-down projects done.)
  2. To eat lots of veggies.  This did not go quite as well as usual, but even so I had vegetables at about 2/3 of my meals as well as some snacks.
  3. To practice relaxation.  I did several times, but it is very difficult.

After stretching a bit Wednesday and today, I still feel good.  Yippee!  It’s wonderful to be getting stronger again.  In fact, it seems as though I can go back to my regular fitness goals again  next week:

  1. Follow my doctor’s suggestions and not try to exercise like a healthy person
  2. Go for a wee walk most days
  3. Stretch on 3 or 4 days, one repetition only
  4. Do arm exercises on 2-3 days, no more than 2 repetitions
  5. Eats lots of vegetables
  6. Relax completely on 3 or 4 days

Please visit Fit Mommy Friday to read how other, fitter mommies did this week, or to participate yourself.

Love this meme…just the title is motivating.

I know I can never do what most of my friends do as far as walking. But I find my goals in steps walked or that extra half block ect.I use a pedometer. It logs my steps.

I think its great to practice relaxation…I need to do that! Problem is I am always doing something even if it is with my hands. The most relaxing thing to me is crocheting.

    Awesome job, Annie Kate!

You know, I really think that's wise to actually list "relaxation". So many times (like 99.9%) I forget this part entirely. But no matter what your physical health/abilities are, it's so important.

Bravo my dear. Very inspiring once again!

And yes, we'd love to have any and all new participants! Just do what you can and go from there. 😀

Great job Annie Kate. Relaxing can be really difficult for a mommy. It sounds like you were able to follow your dr's orders and still accomplish some things. Keep it up!

Your nutritional goals are great, and I know I often forget to do that resting part. Yet it is very much needed, I know. Just as much as those long walks at the park. Thank you for reminding me. 🙂

This is wonderful to read! If you are feeling good, you know you are definitely on the right track! I felt bleh on Monday, after I splurged on Super Bowl. I was definitely not on the right track! LOL!
