This week I wasn’t very motivated about Denise’s Ten-Week Fitness Challenge. There was no reason, really; it just happened. I did meet some of my get-healthy goals, though:
Average at least 6000 steps, five days a week. Yes, and that is mainly because of our five kilometer walk along the Rideau Trail yesterday. Walking outside in nature doesn’t tire me out as much as other forms of exercise do.
Do my physio exercises regularly and build up to the full reps by the end of the year. Perhaps if I do my physio exercises in the woods, I’d keep up with them… but as it is, I neglected them this week. Instead I gardened during the lovely warm afternoons. What a joy to have good weather this late in the fall!
Avoid sugar except on Sundays and major holidays. Absolutely! When my joints are achey and my muscles sore, sweets hold no appeal. In fact on those days I find myself craving fresh arugula and parsley, both of which are still growing in my herb garden.
Eat lots of vegetables and yoghurt. The yoghurt didn’t work again. There may be something wrong with our brand of milk since the children have been complaining about it. Other milk is almost double the price and I keep saying we need a goat or a small cow. Hmmm. Though the yoghurt was a flop, we’ve enjoyed a lot of great vegetables and Miss 17 has fallen in love with kale.
Rest daily. Yes, and naps, too.
If you want to join the Fit Mommies, just visit Denise at Got Chai? As you can tell from my posts, you don’t need to be very active or healthy to participate, although some of the Fit Mommies are.
i am the opposite, when I am tired, sore, achy, I CRAVE sugar….I wish I didn’t. You are doing great, keep it up!
Sugar is my enemy…not good for a diabetic. But I like your goals. You are doing great…until next week 🙂

Great job! I like your taking time to nap, too! I probably need to do that myself.
