We?ve got colds. In fact, we stopped off at Walmart specifically to stock up on Kleenexes! I?m hoping 10 boxes will be enough for the weekend.
Earlier in the week, though, we were all healthy and continued our wonderful visit with Opa and Oma. We did another puzzle,
watched some DVD?s,
ate good food,
and hung out together.
On Wednesday, regular schoolwork began again. We read, wrote, calculated, studied, practiced, and discussed. Miss 8 finished one reader, and we discovered the reason why it was so difficult for her: I had forgotten all about the previous level! (I did that to her older sister with beginning math, too! Poor kids!) To consolidate her learning, we?re whizzing through the easier level. Besides, the Pathway Readers have such wonderful stories that I don?t want her to miss any of them.
Miss 10 learned about calculating averages. Miss 13 is still struggling with solving algebraic equations, but she plods along and learns or relearns something new every day. Both Mr. 15 and Miss 10 are having a hard time thinking of topics for the short story and poem they need to write this month. On the other hand, Miss 18 is surprised at how easy it is to write, now that she?s had to do a lot of it.
We didn?t do much skating in the woods, but here is a picture from last week.

What a lovely wrap up! Sorry you all have colds. I’ve one also and its just hanging on and on.
I love the skating in the woods…reminds me of my childhood! How delightful. Have a blessed week.
Loved your post. Hope all are feeling better quickly!
Just wanted to assure you I read your blog often. Writing comments is far rarer. I spend a lot of time nursing the baby :-).
Laraba, that’s exactly what you should be doing! As the saying goes, “Babies don’t keep…” But thanks for letting me know you read my posts often.

Hi Annie Kate!
It’s been ages (I haven’t been blogging in forever) but it’s good to catch up with your blog again. I’m sorry to hear you’ve all got colds and hope you’ll be well again soon.
I loved the picture of your good food. That must have been absolutely delicious.
Cyberhugs from Leah
Yes, it was delicious! Gluten-free baking has come a long way!

I hope you are all on the mend now. We’ve had the flu, but are getting better. Love all the photos, especially the treats!
