Fit Mommy Friday

encouraging each other

to care well

for the bodies God has given us

Welcome to the Health and Fitness Check-In column of The Christian Home Carnival, posted weekly. For encouragement and accountability, you can check in using the comments at the bottom of this post. Please feel free to join any time, and at whatever level of fitness and health you currently have.

Sometimes you just forget to do things.  That was me this week.  I forgot to exercise, forgot to make yoghurt, and forgot to do fun things with the kids.   In terms of Michael Catt`s advice, I was where I was supposed to be, when I was supposed to be there, but I wasn`t always doing what I should have been doing.

I am so thankful for the Fit Mommy check-in which reminds me of my fitness goals each week! Now that I`ve been reminded, I plan to make yoghurt, relax, and have fun with the kids today. For Christmas, I plan to concentrate on healthy foods.  And on Monday I hope to turn over a new leaf, learn T-Tapp, and start exercising as faithfully as my husband does.

Even so, it was a pretty positive week as far as keeping healthy goes. Here`s how I did.

Record my fitness accomplishments each day… Yes.

Do my eye exercises 5x a week … No.

Go for a daily walk and take at least 6000 steps a day … The number of steps (6500, 7500, 5300, 7500, 4200, 7000) were reasonable, but I didn`t go for a single walk outside.  The ice everywhere makes walking very unpleasant.

Do my physio exercises daily and slowly build up to the half program by December 31 … No, nor did I start T-Tapp.  The book is hiding under Christmas card boxes….

Avoid sugar five days a week … Yes.

Eat lots of vegetables, including fresh ones, and yoghurt … We had some vegetables, but not nearly enough, and I made no yoghurt.

Relax daily… No.  It was just too busy.

Have fun with the kids, including active fun… Besides swimming and reading aloud, I honestly forgot.

How about you? Did you exercise, eat well, and relax happily this week? Let’s encourage each other to care well for the bodies God has given us. Please link up your health and fitness post in the comments below, and don`t forget to link back here from your post. Then enjoy visiting and encouraging other Fit Mommies just like you.

Perhaps you and your husband could make a plan as my husband and I did this week? We only exercised together twice, but he knew my goals and encouraged me to get them done. I knew this would be a hard week with eating and my walking buddies are out of town, so it worked very well. When I see him exercising every morning, it encourages me to be faithful. He doesn’t even have to say anything!

Well, sometimes we have those crazy weeks where we get off our usual routine. Good job on the step count!

I have weeks like that too. I hope you like T-Tapp. I’m not sure I could learn it from a book, you’ll have to let me know what you think.

I did a shorten Fit Mommy Friday post, it’s been a busy week. 😉

There’s a DVD in the back of the book, but it is only for tummy exercises. It’s very good, though. I’ve been too busy to tackle the book so far.
