Homeschool Horizons is a new Canadian magazine run by Shannon and her husband Tony. I’ve met Shannon, and she’s a sweet bubbly homeschooling mom who wants to encourage homeschoolers across Canada and is willing to share with the whole world.
You should not miss the article by Anne White (one of the Ambleside Online founders) in which she discusses Charlotte Mason and creativity in a surprising but wonderfully freeing way. There are a lot of other worthwhile insights in this issue, including the adventures of a family who tried to eat for $2 a day for 10 days. I especially enjoy the small number of ads. This magazine is about encouragement and information, not advertising.
For Christmas, Shannon is sharing the second issue of the magazine with anyone who wants to read it, even if they are not Canadians. So, if you need some encouragement, click on over to Homeschool Horizons and enjoy.

I know, I’ve been thinking about that. I may need to get FaceBook going…but I don’t know it well, nor do I have a lot of time to spend there.

Wow, I just read what Joann said! By non-blogger blogs, I take it she means those that are .coms instead of blogspot.com? I wonder what that will do to the many who use that feature?
