Review: That Works for Me! By Kristen Welch and Jennifer De Groot

For years I’ve been learning from and entering Works For Me Wednesday , an inspiring place to find all sorts of tips.

But each week there are too many for me to go through them all.

So Kristen, who hosts Works for Me Wednesday, and her friend Jennifer have organized over 800 of the best ideas into That Works For Me!, a unique, interactive ebook.

It helps me save money, use my time wisely, keep up with my home, manage my blog, and be both a better wife and a better mom.  I can’t lose with that.  OK, so some of the categories, such as homeschooling, did not teach me anything new, partly because I’ve been homeschooling for 15 years.  And others, like crafts and décor, I am just not interested in.  On the whole, though, it’s a helpful, organized source of inspiration for me.

Features include:

  • 24 categories, from marriage to laundry and recipes to time management.
  • An exhaustive table of contents.
  • A brief summary of each tip.
  • A link to the full post describing each tip.
  • Cute and inspiring stories or quotes for each category.

How I use this book:

  1. I printed out the table of contents, over 25 pages of it.
  2. On my computer, I look through the book and click on links to interesting tips.
  3. I add stars and notes about the tips to my printed table of contents.  This way I know which tips I checked out and liked, or disliked.

Why That Works for Me! works for me:

  • It’s full of great ideas and motivation.
  • I get to meet a lot of interesting bloggers.
  • Most of these bloggers are encouraging, Christian women who inspire me.

Another reason I like it:

Two of the tips come from Tea Time with Annie Kate!

  1. I like your “Spin it again” tip. At this time of year, we manage to dry most washing outside but in the winter, when we end up using the dryer, and watching electricity costs soar, this will be great.
