Another week has gone by, and it’s Fit Mommy check-in time to share how I’ve done with my extremely modest fitness goals. Fatigue-wise, it was a pretty good week, with only one bad day and one slow day, so I was able to do quite well.
Here is my list of weekly goals, along with what I managed this week.
- follow my doctor’s suggestions and not try to exercise like a healthy person Yes!! Although it took a lot of will-power to stop chipping ice after 3 minutes—see #4.
- go for a wee walk most days Yes!! I missed only the two tired days.
- stretch 3 or 4 times a week, one repetition only, using the Curves stretching guide my mom forgot at our place, and my old Callanetics book Almost. I stretched 2 days, and couldn’t find the Curves stretching guide, so I may have missed a few stretches. Oh well, it’s better than nothing.
- move my arms around more, including up and over my head a few times if it’s a good day Yes!! I loaded groceries into the van, chipped ice off the deck steps (2 separate days, about two steps each day) and did some ‘real’ exercises on two days.
- concentrate on eating lots of vegetables, because they make me feel more energetic Yes!! At almost every meal!! I think it’s helping.
Being part of the Fit Mommy group has encouraged me to concentrate a bit more on the fitness aspect of my life than in the past, and I think it will really benefit me. I’m so glad Denise encouraged me to join. (Thanks, Denise!)
I want to add one more goal to my list. I should also completely relax my muscles regularly. How regularly? Well, at least once a day for 20 minutes, I’ve been told. Now, progressive relaxation is just not me; I’m too impatient and often too tense. Committing to 20 minutes a day is NOT going to work. But I’ll try to do it 2 or 3 times next week for just a few minutes. After all, every little bit should help, right?
Thank you for joining me for Tea Time. Have a great and active day, with lots of veggies!
You did great this week! I need to add more veggies into my day!

Keep it up. Small steps can make a big difference. I love that you are paying attention to your body. Eating vegetables makes you feel better, so you are eating more vegetables. Great job!
Great job! Keep it up!

I am so glad to hear you are able to do some exercise. I think it is wise to add more veggies. Doing this meme IS making me think more about my overall health & exactly how my body is feeling throughout the day. Good luck with doing the relaxation. I should look into doing more of that. I had a yoga video once I did each evening about eight years ago and I loved it- I want to find a new copy of that! Anyway, thanks for coming by and encouraging me! Heather Q-S
