Fit Mommy Check-In

Another week has gone by and once again it’s time to check in for Fit Mommy Friday.  I’m so grateful for all the Fit Mommies  and their encouragement!  Without them I would not have accomplished as much as I have.  Thank you all, ladies, and especially Denise who started it.

Here’s how I did this week.

Exercise:  I went for walks most days, and increased the distance without any ill effects.  Smile.   Now I’ll have to be careful not to go any farther next week, or I could end up overdoing it.  Actually, I should be going for two shorter walks a day, rather than one longer one.

I also stretched almost everyday.  Big smile.  Not formal exercise stretches, just the lazy, feel-good ones after sleeping.  Kind of like a cat waking up.   I feel much better after I do them.

Eating:  Not enough vegetables, again.  Sigh.  I did enjoy half a grapefruit and a mandarin, and the sweetness did not seem to bother me.  That’s a hopeful sign.  Next week I plan to start eating vegetables at breakfast again.

Relaxation:  Not enough.  When I get excited about doing something, I’m often too wound up to relax.  If you have any solutions to that problem, please, please, please let me know.

Back to Normal Life:  On Saturday I mashed the potatoes…and survived!  Praise the Lord!  It’s a long time since I’ve been able to do that without needing to rest afterwards.  On Sunday I attended both church services, but lay around the rest of the day, and was exhausted on Monday too.  Oh well.  I pray that, too, will be possible soon.

And, ta-dah!  I worked on arrangements for gluten-free food at a reception I’m attending next week!  Going out gluten-free is a first for me.  Making these arrangements is a huge step in learning to speak up for myself, as all gluten-free people need to do.  I’ve never really had to do so before.  Smile.

You are doing great, Annie Kate. I need to start getting out for walks too. The weather is finally getting warmer here, though it has been rainy lately.

    Keep it up!

Great first step in arranging a gluten free menu at the reception! It can be hard to 'rock the boat' but it's so worth it to arrive at a special function and have food you can eat.
