This time I’ve been tagged by Shannon of Mom Loves Books. There seems to be a tagging frenzy going on, because she was tagged twice!
Shannon’s questions are:
1. Toddlers or Teens? Which is harder and why? They are so different you cannot really compare them. Both can be exhausting, and both can be exhilarating. Both are a blessing in many ways, not the least of which is the opportunity for spiritual growth in the parents. Moms who are blessed to have both at once often report that toddlers and teens are a great mix.
2. What is your favourite Christmas tradition? The children’s Christmas concert, complete with songs, gift books for the little ones, and paper bags full of treats.
3. What do you do (if anything) for regular physical exercise? I’m part of Fit Mommy Friday and am trying to get my strength and stamina back after years of struggling with Celiac Disease.
4. Country/Traditional/Eclectic or Modern – which is YOUR home decorating style? You can see my current harvest décor here. The tomatoes have almost all ripened by now, but we still have the pumpkins and squashes. Fortunately, the pumpkins are almost all orange now.
5. Baths or Showers? Which do you prefer and why? Showers, because our beautiful bathtub sags down from the wall when it fills up, leaving a long open strip. I don’t want to get water into the walls.
6. Have you ever lived abroad? Where and for how long? I was born in the Netherlands, came to Canada when I was 3, returned to the Netherlands for almost two years about a decade ago, and am now a happy home-body. The living abroad experience is formative in many ways, and I’m thankful it.
7. What is your favourite season and why? I’ve never figured that out. Usually I’m thankful for the current one.
8. Are your parents still alive? If not, what do you miss most about them and if yes, have you told them today that you love them? Yes, they are, and so are my in-laws, but they live far, far away. I try to make a point of calling them each week, but often they are out gallivanting…and they don’t believe in answering machines. Yesterday we got through to my in-laws; sometime in the next few days I’ll try my parents again. I really do want to spend more time with them, but life so often gets in the way. Thanks for the reminder, Shannon.
Since I just did another tag, I’m not passing this one along…but if you want to respond to Shannon’s questions on your blog, leave me a comment and I’ll come visit you.
Great reading your answers and learning a little about our blogging buddies! Have a wonderfully blessed day!
