As a Canadian, I did not realize that yesterday was Memorial Day in the US.
I thank all those throughout the world who are ready to defend the freedoms that we so often take for granted, and especially those who have suffered and continue to suffer for us. And I thank their families who suffer with them. May God comfort and encourage them all!
Today I’ll be reviewing a moving book, Traveler’s Rest, about an injured veteran. One of the orderlies in the hospital says,
“Well, God–He has blessed America, even though many people here don’t know it or don’t believe it….These people,”–he dropped the pillow on the bed and waved a hand–“they know…. The men and women I help take care of, they were willing to fight to help defend the blessings.” (p 82)
Canadians, Americans, and so many more throughout the ages have been willing to help defend the blessings. May God bless them.
So true, so true. 🙂
It’s hard to keep up with all the holidays of the world! But thank you for remembering this one. It is a special day, as I have many family members who have served to protect our world. I appreciate their service.
