Fit Mommy Check-In: Recovering

encouraging each other

to care well

for the bodies God has given us

Welcome to the Health and Fitness Check-In column of The Christian Home Carnival, posted weekly. For encouragement and accountability, you can check in using the comments at the bottom of this post. Please feel free to join any time, and at whatever level of fitness and health you currently have.

Well, it’s been a quiet week.  Bouncing back after last week’s crash is taking a while, as I’d been told it would.  Still, by moving slowly, resting a lot, and delegating ‘heavier’ jobs (such as mashing pumpkin.  Sigh.) I’m gradually regaining my energy.

Record my fitness goals each day… Yes, although there wasn’t much to record.

Go for a daily walk and take at least 6000 steps a day … Very slow, small steps, but steps nonetheless:  2600, 3900, 7000, 6500, 5400, 5000.

Do my physio exercises daily and slowly build up to the full program by November 30 … I’ve taken this week off.  Fortunately I’m once again able to climb the stairs without resting, fold the laundry, and empty the dishwasher.  Next week I hope to exercise again.

Avoid sugar five days a week … No.

Eat lots of vegetables, including fresh ones, and yoghurt … Not as much as I should have.  All these foods require more energy to prepare, and that’s just not available right now.

Relax daily… Absolutely.

Have fun with the kids, including active fun… No active fun, really, although I did watch them swim.  But we did play some games and we read aloud a lot.

How about you? Did you exercise, eat well, and relax happily this week? Let’s encourage each other to care well for the bodies God has given us. Please link up your health and fitness post in the comments below, and don`t forget to link back here from your post. Then enjoy visiting and encouraging other Fit Mommies just like you.

I had a good week until yesterday. I talked myself into being too busy to do my weight exercises. Then I went to my monthly bunco group and preceeded to drink a real sprite. I never do that. I hate soda. I guess I will just have to get back on track today and move on. I hope you can continue to come back slowly. I’m off to walk soon as it gets light out. Go us!

I’m glad you’re getting stronger. It is so hard to want to do things that you cannot. I struggle with that also.
