encouraging each other to care well for the bodies God has given us
My personal goal is to regain strength after a debilitating illness so that I can live a healthy, active life with my family.
Your goal may be to lose weight, look better, feel better, or run a marathon. Whatever it is, please join Fit Mommy any time, no matter what your current level of fitness is. You can check in using the comments at the bottom of this post.
Usually I manage to avoid overbooking myself. This was one of those weeks when it didn’t work. Besides unexpectedly having an extra review due, I needed to prepare our seed order (a full day’s work), and had promised to spend a day downtown with new friends. So whatever I was doing, I felt I should also be doing something else, and it drove me frantic. Finally I consciously decided to focus on only one priority at a time, and after that life went more smoothly.
But that priority was often not exercising. Sigh!
Even so, getting out for a walk really helped, and so did fitting in a few exercises here and there. If I didn’t know Fit Mommy Friday was coming up, I would probably not have done even that much…. Thanks so much for your weekly support and encouragement, my friends. It makes a huge difference.
Here’s how I did with my usual goals this week.
Record my fitness accomplishments each day…Yes.
Do 9 repetitions of my eye exercises 5 days a week …Yes! Although I really need to remind myself to rest my eyes by looking into the distance regularly. Too much close work makes them get worse.
Go for a daily walk and average 6200 steps a day … I did actually manage 5 walks this week! My daily steps were not too bad either, considering the circumstances: 5200, 4600, 5800, 2000 (the seed ordering day), 7700, 5800, averaging to 5200 steps.
Do 6 repetitions of my physio exercises 5 days a week … No. I only did them twice, and only 4 repetitions. Next week can only be better!
Do 5 repetitions of my organ keyboard and pedal exercises, 5 days a week… No, I only managed to do these 3 times.
T-Tapp: Learn 2-3 pages of Fit and Fabulous each week, and practice what I know daily… No. I’m dropping this goal for now.
Avoid sugar five days a week … Yes.
Eat lots of vegetables, including fresh ones, and yoghurt … Lots of yoghurt and a moderate number of vegetables.
Relax daily…No! I felt very stressed and got grumpy as a consequence. Someone said that it’s easier to be good when you’re happy. There’s a lot of truth to that.
Have fun with the kids, including active fun…We read aloud and played games, but we didn’t do much walking, except for our day downtown at a museum. As soon as it warms up we’ll be outside more.
How about you? Did you exercise, eat well, and relax happily this week?

You seem to get a lot done when you are not focused on exercising. Those 5 walks are plenty, especially during a busy week. I hate being too busy. It wears me out. Next week I am in hibernation for spring break!!! I can’t wait.
I hope you can get your daily relaxation in next week!
Here’s my post for the week.

I completely understand being too busy, I had that kind of week too. But it sounds like you still did great. Fit Mommy Friday helps me stay on track too, knowing I’m going to have to ‘come clean’ with what I did or didn’t do. 😉
