Fit Mommy Friday: Living Outdoors

During my month off-line, I was outside most of the time.  We spent time in parks, at beaches, in gardens (our own and other’s), climbing hills (yes, me!), and in the water.  And we slept in tents.  I was not ready to resume an inside-based lifestyle.

However, we needn’t be inside much. Even when we are, the freshness, the bird songs, and the smell of growing corn wafts in through the open windows.  Early this morning a fog drifted over the fields, and soon we will be working outside again, stacking wood, fixing up our flower gardens, and preparing a home for the new chicks.  And then we’ll swim.

It’s a good lifestyle, but not one conducive to ‘artificial’ exercise.  We garden, walk, swim, play, pick fruit, discover nature, and do housework, but I completely forgot about things such as eye exercises and calisthenics.  I’ve also gotten out of the routine of napping but with this outdoor lifestyle I no longer seem to need it.

We eat well, enjoying our garden produce, and I’ve learned that cucumbers are actually consumable water-bottles.

Unlike my previous Fit Mommy Friday posts, this one has no list of goals that were met or not.  I just lived outside as much as possible, and hope to continue doing that until it becomes too cold.

How about you?  Did you exercise, eat well, and relax happily this week?

Sounds like a great time. So glad you got to have so much outside time. Our real hot time has ended, so we are outside more ourselves before it gets too cold for us too. 🙂

I like “natural” exercise. Today I mowed and it was more interesting than doing a walking DVD, however, the weather has been so bad lately that being outside much is not pleasant. We broke a record today for the most consecutive days in a row over 90F. Ugh!
