Fit Mommy Friday

From rainy walks across sodden corn-fields, to preparing the garden for the early vegetables, to hours of organ playing, I’ve been active all week.  Its feels good, helps me sleep, and gives me joy and energy.

My Fitness Goals:

Go for a walk at least once a day… Yes!  And I noticed that the blood root and the adder’s tongues are blooming…which means that the trilliums should be out next week.

Do calisthenics at least 3 times a weekNot at all.  But garden work is good exercise and, for me, organ-playing is too.

Avoid sugar six days a week …  Well, I was doing fine until one of my review  books arrived with a package of Hershey’s Hugs…and then Miss 18 and Miss 13 made that yummy trifle that you see above….

Eat lots of vegetables and yoghurt.  Drink kefir.  As usual, yes to the yoghurt and veggies.  No to the kefir.

Rest daily, and do more fun things with the kids… Being active outside makes me sleep better, but not longer, at night.  Of course, I’ve still been resting in the afternoons; that seems to be a necessary fact of life although it feels like such a luxury.

The children love it that I’m playing the organ a lot these days; in fact Miss 18 says it makes the house more cheerful.  Besides that, we’ve gone for walks, worked in the garden, read stories, and shared 21 meals plus some snacks.  Today I’m taking Miss 8 for a long country drive, ending with the highlight—for her—of grocery shopping.

How about you?  Did you exercise, eat well, and relax happily this week?

Great week. What a pretty dessert! I had some yummy fresh strawberries yesterday which were quite a treat for me.

I’ve been working more and resting less by I do plan to rest as much as possible on Sunday. I’ll take of big stack of books and magazines and get comfy in bed for at least an hour after lunch. I’m looking forward to it!
